First and foremost make sure that you&#039;re healthy enough to exercise.  Although I recommend that you jump rope that particular exercise is hard on your bones and joints so caution is warranted.  One of the best stress reduction exercises is a 15 or 30 minute walk. 

As for athletes I can&#039;t speak about anyone in particular but for the most part they often collapse because of some issue with dehydration or unknown cardiac issue.
