Stress Buster Tips
Stress is usually at the root of all of the above psychological disorders. It also affects us physically as well. Stress has been linked to every disease known to man, including heart disease and cancer. Clearly, it is not a good idea for people to be under stress. But, as human beings, we are going to experience stressful situations. There is no avoiding this fact. Therefore, in order to really be able to help cure ourselves from being “stressed out” we need to know how to do the following:
- Identify stressors that affect our daily lives;
- Eliminate the stressors of which we can free ourselves;
- Learn to deal with stressful situations in a healthy way
Tips
- Take a deep breath. Deep breathing helps relax the body and also gives you time to think. Feel the stress leave your body as you exhale.
- Make a list of things that bother you. You can’t take action until you know the exact things to take action on. Work on them one at a time.
- Realize you have a choice. In every situation we make a conscious or unconscious in how we react. Having choices give you more control.
- Think about ways you can best adjust to each change that causes you stress. Create a stress diary as a way to process your feelings and identify some solutions.
- Notice what situation that prompt your body to get tense. Begin identifying where your body stores tension.
- Step away from a stress-inducing situation. Getting clear about the situation helps you decide where to place your energy and time.
- Focus on what you want to create in your life, and consciously recognize and discord what you don’t want.
- Exercising forgiveness for your benefit. It allows you to let go of the past and move on. Harboring old grudges keeps you firmly stuck in the past and takes away your productive energy.
